Everything You Need.
One Location.
Our in-house diagnostic lab allows us to figure out what is troubling your dog or cat quickly—because when your pet is sick, you don’t want to wait or to travel to multiple locations.
As a full-service veterinary clinic and animal hospital, we do our best to be a one-stop-shop. We are able to perform all medical exams and most diagnostic testing and procedures at our Greenville office.
Diagnostic Services Include Lab Work, Radiology, and Annual Check-Ups
At Ambassador Animal Hospital, we have sophisticated diagnostic tools that we use to obtain detailed information about your dog or cat’s condition. Our services can include blood work, chemistry panels, digital x-rays, urine and fecal screenings, and ultrasound. We can test for a number of diseases and parasites such as heartworms, feline leukemia, aids, and other infections.
We also use our advanced diagnostic lab in our wellness care exams to help catch diseases and parasites in their earliest stages, before they begin to pose a more serious threat to your pet’s health. We have an on-site laboratory that allows for the results of many of these tests to be delivered in under an hour, which saves crucial time in diagnosing critical injuries or in emergency situations.
The Benefits of Digital Radiology For Your Pet
Digital radiology, also known as digital x-ray, is a non-invasive method to examine your dog or cat’s internal organs and internal systems. Using our digital radiology machine we can see your pet’s muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems, checking for any broken bones, tumors, bladder stones, or diseases. Not only is the image quality of a digital x-ray much higher than a film x-ray, there is also no time lost processing the image.
We can look at digital images within a few seconds following exposure, which reduces the length of time your dog or cat is under safe, general anesthesia when required. Also, since we can view the x-ray immediately, we are able to diagnose and treat your pet more quickly. Your pet’s exposure to radiation is also reduced as we use far less radiation for digital radiography.
The Benefits of Ultrasonography For Your Dog or Cat
We also offer ultrasound services at Ambassador Animal Hospital for cases where the initial digital x-ray reveals a problem that needs closer investigation. Ultrasonography is a non-invasive, state-of-the-art imaging tool that uses sound waves to painlessly examine your dog or cat’s internal organs. Orthopedic abnormalities, intestinal obstructions, organ enlargement, and other conditions can be discovered with this device.
As the sound waves travel through the body they return three-dimensional images (length, width, and depth) of specific internal organs. With ultrasonography, we can see both the depth dimension of the organ and get a good view of the edges of the organ, making it an ideal tool for a more in-depth evaluation. Ultrasound also returns results in real time.
The Benefits of an In-House Diagnostic Lab For Your Dog or Cat
Our advanced, in-house diagnostic lab gives us test results for your dog or cat in no time. We can run complete blood chemistry panels, blood tests for heartworm and tick borne diseases, and urinalysis to check for kidney and bladder health (our initial results will be verified by an outside laboratory in some cases). We are able to share test results with you in just a few minutes and can respond immediately when treatment is needed.
Since we can diagnose and treat so quickly, we are able to provide emergency services in addition to regular medical care, annual check-ups, and other wellness care.
